ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Matt Dessner

Matt Dessner got his start in front of the camera, appearing in television commercials, TV shows, and movies during the 1980s and ’90s. He later transitioned into directing TV test commercials for global advertising agencies, where he helped shape brand stories for campaigns such as Lucky Charms, Listerine, Tyson, Cheerios, Tylenol, Jeep, Samsung, Porsche, GMC, and many others.

Today, Matt’s photographic work spans the worlds of Runway Fashion, behind-the-scenes (BTS) photography, and live concert events. His ability to capture the energy and spontaneity of these high-energy environments infuses his work with intimate moments and documentary storytelling, creating vivid, immersive imagery. Matts most recent work features images from New York and LA fashion week as well as musical acts The National and The Interruptors.

In addition to his work in fashion and music, Matt crafts compelling narratives through his street photography, blending the immediacy of modern life with a palette of nostalgic hues. His street photography offers a striking juxtaposition of the contemporary and the classic, capturing moments that are both timeless and current.

Matts photography invites the viewer into a world where time-honored aesthetics meet the vibrancy of the present.
