Venice Air Master Series - "KNOX" Venice Beach, California

from $95.00

Every day is different at Venice Beach skate park and the “Air Master Series” is an ongoing group of unique images that attempt to capture the vibe and raw energy that is unmistakably Southern California.

The rise of skate culture dates back to the 1970s, when the Z-Boys' skateboard group formed in Dogtown…also known as the Venice and Santa Monica area. Fast forward to the early 2000s when Venice Beach Skatepark was built—a moment that further solidified Venice as the home base for the Southern California skate scene and where I am always inspired.

Process & Materials

My Street photography is infused with the soul of Retro Polaroid memories. I make Oversized Polaroid shaped frames from Custom Aluminum DiBond. How do I hang my picture?

Depending on the product and its size, Aluminum rails are our most-used wall-mount. Depending on the size of the piece, two or four rails are attached to the back of the product.

Hanging your picture can generally be done with two screws or hooks anchored or screwed into holes in the wall. For my seller images two nails may suffice. You should always use two nails, screws, or hooks so that your picture will not slide to the side or hang crooked. All of my artworks are compatible with gallery rails, in which hooks are attached to thin nylon wires.

Aluminum Dibond is a composite material. It is 1/8 in. (3 mm) thick and has 3 layers. Two aluminum layers with a platinum white look sandwich a black polyethylene core. Matt Dessners street photography is skillfully printed on aluminum Dibond which produces a top-grade, robust print with a long lifespan. The low net weight of the material, was carefully chosen for his large formats.
